UNEMPLOYED Students

ULearning Skillnet are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of free places for unemployed students insterested in one of our listed courses.

Skillnets training programmes which include unemployed trainees are part of a scheme agreed with the Department of Social and Family affairs.  To qualify you:-

 >     Must be registered with the Department of Social and Family Affairs (DSFA)
 >     Must be in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance or Job-Seekers Benefit
 >     Former sole traders must have notified DSFA that they have ceased trading

As a first step anyone interested in availing in one of our unemployed places should complete the relevant application for a place on whatever programme they are interested in through the relevant Learning Provider.

All trainees, including job-seekers, are required to complete a Participant Profile Form (form can be accessed below).  An evaluation form will also be required after completing the training.

Skillnets' training provision for the unemployed is Department of Social Protection (DSP) approved.  Unemployed trainees are not required to seek prior approval from a Social Welfare local office before commencing training.

If training occurs on the same day as a signing day, it is the responsibility of the unemployed trainee to inform the Social Welfare local office and arrange an alternative signing date prior to commencing training.

ULearning Skillnet and/or Skillnets Ltd may contact unemployed trainees after a programme is complete for the purposes of evaluating programmes and determining how people have progressed since completing training.
